One of the main reasons people move to Kingston Upon Thames, is for access to the Royal Parks that we are lucky enough to have on our Doorstep.
Richmond Park is one of London’s eight Royal Parks and covers an area of 2500 acres. With wide open spaces, grasslands lakes and deer herds, it truly is a spectacular place to enjoy a walk, run, bike ride or day out with the family. The Isabella Plantation is also beautifully maintained and is a popular destination in Richmond Park to visit.
Bushy Park is another beautiful royal park accessed just over Kingston bridge, covering 1,099 acres. Did you know that during the Second World War, part of bushy Park became the US air base, Camp Griffiss and it was here that General Eisenhower planned the D Day Landings?
Look out for the iconic bronze Diane fountain, designed by Christopher Wren. This park is also home to some incredible wildlife such as woodpeckers, kingfishers and kestrels and of course the herds of fallow deer.
